A spring low left the channels almost dry. Herons worked the edges while the mud flats steamed in the morning sun.
Heights are given against chart datum, so a negative low means more beach than usual. Plan crossings for the hour either side of low water.
After the storms the high-water line was thick with bleached branches and the occasional fishing float.
